For years, Envoy at The Meadows has been the leader in caring for Goochlands senior population.
Now, renovations are underway-and the new sign out front is just the beginning. Envoy at The Meadows is adding room for 24 more skilled patients in addition to the 60 beds currently licensed by the Department of Health.
Along with approval from the Department of Health, we are renovating 24 of our assisted living beds to become skilled nursing beds in an effort to better serve the needs of our community, said Danielle Dorazio, Director of Admissions. These improvements mean that were able to ensure that Goochland residents who are still independent but need help recovering from a fall or surgery can better receive temporary care close to home and their loved ones.
But increasing access is only part of the project. The construction underway also includes major renovations throughout the facility.
Workers are currently installing flat-screen TVs, built-in cherry wardrobes, marble-topped cherry bedside tables, new over bed tables and new beds to the new transitional care unit. At the same time, The Meadows will now offer more comfortable accommodations to meet special needs for patients requiring isolation or bariatric equipment.
Were committed to providing the same compassionate care with dignity in a quiet country setting that our residents and families have grown to appreciate, said Cindy Ritter, Executive Director. Now were adding some bells and whistles to the building so that the accommodations complement the skill set that our nurses and therapists have always maintained.
A community open house and ribbon-cutting are tentatively planned for early fall.
We welcome members of our community to come in to see the improvements and meet our dedicated staff, Ritter added.
